The Hayle Standard triathlon was held today, and surprisingly the usual blazing sunshine wasn’t as evident as in previous years. Held for a few years now, the sheltered swim and fast undulating cycle makes it a competitive course. So how did your day go? Vote now in the tri-cornwall post event poll. If you have a ‘comment’ to add to this post, login or check the FAQ. You can also post on the forum.
The event was won by Neil Eddy of votwo in 2:08:32, who also won the 2008 St. Ives biathlon. 1st lady was Jenny Rice in 2:33:55
The Mounts Bay harriers have added a series of three mini aquathlons to their events portfolio, which most triathletes could fit into their race calendar, and also attract the growing numbers of runners who have yet to experience multi-sport. The aquathlons are held at the Jubilee pool in Penzance, and consist of a 200m pool swim and 2 mile run. The 1st event held on wednesday the 25th of June was won by Neil Eddy of votwo. The series continues on wednesdays July 30th and August 27th.
Registration is from 6pm and the swim starts at 7pm. The cost is £7 per event (£1 extra on the night) or £20 for all three. Profits are shared between the club and the friends of Jubilee pool.

There has been a delay in sending out information about this event in 2008, as a number of problems have needed to be overcome. The delay has resulted in an unfavourable rescheduling of this event, which means it will be held on Thursday 28th of August at 1pm, so in the event that you are free on that day, feel free to download the entry info in pdf format above. It’s hoped that the event will be held again on a weekend next year.
This is a charity swim and all monies raised are in aid of the Macmillan cancer charity.
